4. CASH AND RESTRICTED CASH Restricted cash represents those amounts required to be placed in escrow by banks with whom the Company has mortgages and amounts required to be placed into escrow related to the Company’s tenant reinsurance program. Restricted cash is included in other assets in the consolidated balance sheets. The following table provides a reconciliation of cash and restricted cash reported within the consolidated statement of cash flows:
